Olympia joined The Canadian Sport For Life (CS4L) movement in 2014

CS4L is a movement to make sports better. LONG TERM ATHLETE DEVELOPMENT (LTAD) is the pathway to increase overall participation in sports and also helps develop top ranked athletes. It includes guidelines for TRAINING, COMPETITION AND RECOVERY based on principles of human development and maturation. LTAD is built on sport science and the best practices in coaching from around the world.

Working Closely With Canada Basketball, Olympia Is Implementing The First Phase Of The LTAD Program Into Its Basketball Camps:

  • All Olympia coaches will be exposed by Canada Basketball on how to implement the LTAD concepts that in turn promote an optimal training environment for camper athletes based on their developmental age and specified phases of loading drills and learning.
  • Olympia’s campers will learn and optimize their fundamental movement skills by Olympia’s counsellors that have been trained in error detection and correction to build more universal and well-rounded players.
  • Competition is designed so that campers increase their ball touches and opportunities to make decisions on the court and in turn apply the offensive and defensive actions that they learn from top notch basketball instructors.

Be the first to be involved in the world known LTAD programs and its implementations in the Olympia basketball camps. The impact on the camper experience and their improvement will be seen this summer! For more information on the LTAD or Canada Basketball’s LTAD program please visit:  http://www.basketball.ca/ltad-s15158
