Canada's first "waterfront-based" Junior Lifeguard Club at a Resident Summer Camp

Olympia offers a unique opportunity for Junior Lifeguards to develop their swimming and lifeguard skills at both a waterfront setting and indoor pool. A program of the Lifesaving Society – Canada's Lifeguard Experts.

  • 30 hours of instruction/skill development with emphasis on: swimming skills, lifesaving skills, personal fitness, community education, lifesaving knowledge, leadership, and teamwork
  • Achievement will be recognized in their personal water logs
  • Opportunities to shadow guard and learn from Olympia's Lifeguard Team
  • Jr. Lifeguard Competition
  • Awards Ceremony
  • 24 hours per week for fun "free time" and evening activities
  • "Inner Balance" training program

Requirements

  • Swim a minimum of 100 meters
  • Tread water for 3 minutes non-stop
  • Be comfortable in deep water
