- How do I regsiter my child for summer camp?

What is your cancellation policy?
Up to June 1st your fee is refundable less $75.00. Cancellation after June 1st is refundable less $100.00. Cancellations occurring less than 14 days prior to camp time will be handled on an individual basis, depending on the camp's ability to replace the camper.

What are the ages of campers at Olympia?
We have campers of all ages at Olympia Sports Camp. Our youngest campers are 8 years old and our oldest campers are 19.

Will my child be placed with other children that are the same age as him/her?
Yes, children are placed in cabin groups and sports groups with children that are around the same age as them.

How many campers are in each cabin?
Our camper cabins sleep between 8 - 12 people.

Can my child request a friend to be in their cabin?
Yes. You can request up to three cabin mates that are the same age as your child. Every effort is made to honour the cabin requests of campers; however this is not always possible.

How does my child get up to camp? Do you offer transportation?
There are two different ways that your child can get up to Olympia. You can drive them up yourself, or they can come up on a bus. Olympia does offer bus service to and from camp every week.
There is a coach bus that leaves from Ikea (Vaughan) in Toronto on Sunday mornings at 10:00am. The bus makes a stop in Barrie and Orillia on the way to Olympia. On Saturdays, the bus leaves camp after closing ceremonies at approximately 2:00pm. Once again, there are stops in Orillia and Barrie before the bus arrives at Ikea (Vaughan) in Toronto. What are the arrival and pick up times?
On Sunday, you can arrive at camp to drop of your child between 12:00pm and 2:00pm. Opening ceremonies begin at approximately 2:30pm. On Saturday, you can arrive around 12:00pm to pick up your child; closing ceremonies begin at 12:15pm.

Is there lunch available on Sunday, arrival day?
There is no scheduled lunch, however we do offer a barbeque where you are able to purchase food and drinks.

How many sessions are offered per day?
There are three sessions per day (Monday – Friday). Each session is approximately 1 hr and 30 minutes long. On Sunday and Saturday there is one session.

What does the daily schedule look like?

Everyone looks forward to 'SKIT NIGHT' where campers and counsellors perform for the enjoyment of all! Each Skit Night finishes with the memorable premier screening of the 'WEEK-END' video which relives the past week of fun and excitement. -
What is "free time"?
There are two free time sessions each day. They occur between 10:30am - 12:00am and 3:30pm - 5:00pm. Free time is a chance for campers to spend time with their cabin groups and cabin counsellor. Free time is also a chance for everyone to participate in different activities around camp, such as; high ropes, low ropes, water activities, the climbing tower and much more.

Do you have a tuck shop? Where is my child allow to purchase products?
Yes, we do have a tuck and pro shop where we sell food, drinks and Olympia clothing. The tuck shop is open during free time from Monday to Friday. Free time is 10:30am - 12:00pm and 3:30pm - 5:00pm each day.

How can I get a message to my child at camp?
There are multiple ways to get in touch with you child while he/she is at camp. You can call our summer office at 705-635-2491. You can email us, and put your child's name in the subject line. There is also the old fashioned snail mail. Our summer address is:

How do you handle campers who are staying longer than one week?
Campers staying for more than one week will be provided with room and board and a supervised recreational program during changeover at no additional cost. Their cabin assignment and counsellor may change for the following week.

Do you offer laundry service?
We offer laundry service to campers that are staying at Olympia for more than one week. Laundry is picked up Saturday afternoon, and it is returned to camp on Sunday morning.

What qualifications does your staff have?
All of our counsellors have first aid and CPR training. All staff working at our high ropes course must complete our site specific training, or must demonstrate and provide proof of equivalent training and experience. There will also be a Lead Instructor on camp with a minimum of a Level 2 Challenges Unlimited Inc. Certification.
All staff working at our waterfront must have their NLS, or if they have their Bronze Cross/Med, they may work in conjunction with a staff member with NLS.

Do you have a camp doctor?
Yes. Olympia has a Health Centre team that consists of a camp doctor, four registered nurses, and four athletic therapists.

Do you have bathrooms in the cabins?
Yes. All of our cabins are fully equipped with bathroom and shower facilities.

How many meals are served each day?
When campers arrive on Sunday the first meal served to them is dinner. On Saturdays, campers are served breakfast and lunch before leaving Olympia. All other days, campers are served three meals a day as well as an evening snack.

What about food allergies?
Olympia does not allow nuts or nut products on our camp. They are not used in our kitchen or sold in the tuck shop.
We are also able to accommodate for most dietary restrictions, as long as we are informed of them in advance. (For example: vegetarian, lactose intolerant, gluten allergy, egg allergies, allergies to certain fruits, etc)
