Archery Camp

Designed for the young archer looking to improve their skills and learn more about the sport of Archery, or the Beginner wanting to learn this timeless pursuit. Campers may bring their own equipment or they may use equipment that is supplied for the program. Individual training and instruction will be combined with friendly competition and fun shooting activities.

Some of the areas of instruction will include:

  • Instruction in proper shooting form and shot progression
  • Mental and physical training for better shooting
  • Video tape analysis of the shot
  • Exposure to the four different styles of archery
  • Have the opportunity to shoot different style of archery equipment
  • Learn how to maintain and tune a bow
  • Learn to repair and construct arrows
  • Daily in house team competitions
  • Learn the preparations for competing in tournaments
  • Compete in the Crooked Arrow Tournament to wrap up week
  • "Inner Balance" training program

Bill Embury

Bill Embury has over 25 years experience in the Archery Community, with many of them spent coaching and training young people.  He has coached at local Peterborough High School teams for over 15 years.  From beginners to provincial and national level athletes, he has coached archers to the medal rounds.  Bill owns and operates Saugeen Shafts, an archery specialty pro shop and shooting range in Peterborough.  He is currently a Level 2 NCCP certified coach working on his Level 3.
